P oros is a charming coastal village about 40 km southwest of Argostoli. It has an approximate population of 1100 people and is surrounded by lush green forests. The town is also home to a beautiful port that offers ferry services to Kyllini in Peloponnese. Poros is a perfect summer destination due to its dense vegetation and crystal-clear blue sea. It has become a famous tourist resort in Kefalonia, attracting many visitors yearly, including Greek travellers. You will find plenty of traditional taverns, restaurants, and picturesque cafes along the waterfront, while some hotels are also located in the area. The village has several vital sights that are worth visiting. One of them is the impressive Drakena Cave, and there is also a superb gorge. The Monastery of Panagia Atros is another significant attraction visitors should not miss.
